Wednesday, 10 December 2008 09:19

Traveling to MAC rival Toledo this past weekend was hope for a sweep. After a big win 2 weekends ago against Northern Michigan University, the Huskies came out of this past weekend against the University of Toledo with a split. In Friday nights game it saw the Huskies come out quick and overpower the Toledo attack as the Huskies went on to win the game 8-4. Peter Alfano added 2 goals and 2 assists, Chris Bednarek added 2 goals 1 assist, and Bobby Distefano had 2 goals while Kevin Wittenberg added 2 assists. In goal for the win was Brandon Colello who stopped 56 on 59 shots.

The Saturday game was a totally different story. The team was outplayed in every aspect of the game and lost 7-1. Toledo came out hungry and angry after their show on Friday night. Junior forward Dave Brienzo said, "We were complacent, and thought this would be an easy game. But those are the types of attitudes that gave us this blowout loss."

The Huskies will now play a home weekend Robert Morris College-Chicago this weekend at the Ice Centre on Friday Night at 9pm, and Saturday and 3pm. The teams met earlier this season at the RMC Showcase Tournament, where the Huskies lost 7-4 to the Eagles.
