Huskies Pick Up 2 In Thanksgiving Tournament
The day after Thanksgiving the Huskies headed out to the Thanksgiving
Tournament in Oak Lawn. The tournament consisted of three games on the
26th, 27th and the 28th for NIU. Their first game on Friday was against
RMC Maroon who had beaten NIU back-to-back in October. However, on
Friday NIU made it clear they were the stronger team with a 2-0 win. NIU
showed no signs of stopping with their 4-3 victory over RMC White on
Saturday who was also beaten by NIU earlier in November in an astounding
10-1 victory for the Huskies. Sunday, the last day of the tournament NIU
faced off against Lindenwood University D2 who NIU will face later in
the season. Even with a 2-0 record in the tournament NIU was upset 6-3.

Another Great Weekend for NIU
The NIU Huskies Hockey Club continues to dominate with
their third win in a row. The Huskies beat DePaul 10-1 on Friday and 7-5
on Saturday. Take a look at the Thanksgiving Tournament schedule. Team
stats page has been updated. See it here.

Mixed Weekend Restarts Win Steak Count
The Huskies entered the weekend red hot with a 6 game winning streak.
Even with their recent momentum, Friday's game came as an upset with a
2-1 loss. The close game however showed that Saturdays game wasn't going
to be easy for either team. Saturday, NIU came out looking to avoid a
back-to-back loss and pulled out with a 3-1 victory.

Huskies continue the streak
Coming from their three game winning streak the Huskies looked to
capitalize and did so with three more wins this past weekend. The
Huskies came out of the gates with a scoring spree on Friday. NIU sent
RMC (White) packing with a 10-1 loss and then put two losses on
Southwest Missouri's record with a 3-2 and 7-4 win on Saturday and
Sunday. Be sure to catch the Huskies as they continue to dominate on
November 12th at 10:10 pm. [Seven Bridges]

Huskies Look To Be Turning Season Around
The last two games in October hopefully give an insight to what November
will bring. The Huskies came from Fridays game with an impressive 9-2
win over Marquette University. During that game a player from each team
was disqualified; #41 Brian Allen [Northern Illinois University] and #12
Sean McNulty [Marquette University]. Marquette would suffer a similar
fate on Saturday with a 6-4 win by NIU. Saturdays win gave the Huskies a
3 game winning streak, their longest this season. They will be looking
to extend this streak with their 3 game weekend coming up. |
